Alice Warnecke Sutro & Eliot Sutro founded and co-own Sutro Wine Co. Alice manages all aspects of Sutro Wine Co. Eliot is the wine director.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc grapes for Sutro wines are sourced from Warnecke Ranch and Vineyard.
Alice and Eliot live at Warnecke Ranch with their kids Isabel and Adin. They do not grow the grapes or own the vineyard and there is not a tasting room or winery on site. Alice works for her family’s grape-growing business part time, assisting in vineyard management.
Alice leads wine clients on educational viticulture and nature walks at the family property to promote Sutro wines. The tasting takes place off-site at either Jimtown Store or Harmon Guest House. This is slow wine tourism.
